Frequently asked questions
How are words counted?
Any run of letters or numbers, including hyphenated words and apostrophes, counts as one word. Counts may differ slightly from Microsoft Word, which applies its own rules.
Why is my count zero?
The PDF is probably a scan, so it contains images of text rather than real text. OCR is not performed.
Are my files uploaded?
Everything runs inside your browser tab, so the file you choose is not uploaded to a server.
